I've been meaning to write and tell you that we really enjoyed our week (7/26-8/2) at the 3-bedroom cottage. That is a very beautiful area and one week was definitely not enough. The dock worked out great once I figured out how to tie off to pilings with water skiers and a few boats that made waves big enough to start my boat rolling. (I drove up to my yacht club in Boston and got some bigger bumpers that I could tie horizontally.) I also brought a Sportspal canoe with a small outboard and we tooled around quite a bit in that and visited several of the river islands. We climbed to the top of the big-rock island just down river of your place and could not believe how beautiful the view was - with the grasses, the islands, the various birds, etc, it was spectacular. We also took the canoe down to boaters beach and spent a fun afternoon there. One morning I caught four schoolie stripers right off the dock and on several mornings I caught small stripers and blues nearby from my canoe. Major boat trips included a trip to the Cuttyhunk area for beach and sightseeing day and successful fluke fishing trip behind Gooseberry Island.

Dear Jack,

I just want to write and tell you what a wonderful time we had at your Westport Cottage. We had family in nearby cottages, so it was a lot of fun. The boys enjoyed fishing off the dock as well as in the boat. I found it beautiful and peaceful. The backyard is beautiful and shady.

We are definitely interested in the Main Cottage for two weeks next summer. My brother is interested in the smaller cottage for the same two weeks.

Dear Jack,

Well, once again, we loved our stay at your cottages in Westport. I'm working on getting this year's photos posted on a website. When they're finished I'll send you the link.

We'd like to put ourselves in for the same two weeks next summer: July 10-24, 2005 -- both cottages. Let us know, please, if the cottages are available, the costs, and when you need the deposit.

Thanks for the additions to the cottages: the beautiful front window was especially appreciated. The lower dock worked well for kayaks, so we didn't need to trespass on neighbors' property to put them into the water. We are learning how to tie up our boats to pilings, but would appreciate a few cleats here and there, if you're going to be working on the dock in the coming year.

We very much liked working with Anders Newcomer -- he was quite a find for you. And, of course, the place was spotless when we arrived. We hope it was clean enough when we left.

As usual, we have loved being here. Three weeks worked out very well for us, and our friends and family really enjoyed themselves. Anders is a terrific caretaker and I am glad that you have someone so reliable. Your cottages and location are wonderful.

It would be great if you could get back to us in the next day or two, while we are still here.
